Success Story | Rachel Clark: CASAC Graduate Summer 2020
In February 2020, I began the process of obtaining my CASAC-T certification with Exponents. Just one month later, the world was hit with the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a shutdown. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to attend a month of in-person classes before the shift to virtual learning. I was very impressed by the expertise and dedication of Toby Haskins and Dr. Brown, who facilitated the classes. They ensured that every student could thrive and made the transition to virtual classes smooth, providing the necessary materials for each session. Following the completion of the course, I passed the CASAC-T exam with flying colors, largely thanks to the excellent preparation provided by Toby and Dr. Brown. With my CASAC-T certification, I was able to work at a treatment center, where I conducted substance use counseling for clients. This experience further inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work, as I aimed to advance my career in substance use treatment. I owe Exponents a great deal of thanks for expanding my knowledge of the recovery world and equipping me with the skills to offer the best treatment to each client.
