Volunteer

Volunteers at EXPONENTS play a critical role in supporting our participants through a difficult time in their lives. Whether its preparing meals in our pantry, donating clothes to our clothing closet, leading a workshop, or providing practical support to programs and clients, EXPONENTS volunteers are helping New Yorkers live healthy and purposeful lives. Still wondering whether you should volunteer with EXPONENTS, well let’s answer some common questions to help you!

For Individuals

EXPONENTS’ volunteers come from diverse cultures, races, and economic backgrounds. EXPONENTS has many different opportunities in various programs and events. We are always looking for a helping hand!

For Corporations & Groups

Whether you’re a corporation, school, or just a group of friends looking to do something meaningful and fun, we welcome your help. Groups can work together to serve meals in our pantry, lead a workshop to share a skill or talent with our clients, or host a party. There are many great ways you and your team can have a meaningful experience while giving back to your community!

What Skills Are Required? Is There a Minimum Time Commitment?

The skills needed vary based on the opportunity. Skills often include the hobbies, passions, and expertise of our volunteers! Volunteer roles at EXPONENTS might include yoga, cooking, reading and writing, physical fitness, personal finance, crocheting, entrepreneurship or exploring NYC. Some programs require a specific time commitment. Others are more flexible. Some opportunities, such as our Annual Gala, require just a few hours. We’ll help match your availability to our needs.

Please email volunteer@exponents.org for a list of the current opportunities and more information.
