Training for Professional Development is also known as EXPONENTS’ Center for Professional Development. The Center is a stand-alone program that provides training for various state certifications in the field of alcoholism.

Students who complete our training program will have satisfied the NY State OASAS 350-hour educational requirements for the Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) credential and will receive a certificate of completion. Students with a High School Diploma or G.E.D. who complete our program are immediately eligible to apply for the CASAC-Trainee certificate (CASAC-T) issued by NY State OASAS. Once this CASAC-T certificate is issued individuals can take the IC&RC exam for the CASAC credential and begin completing the additional NY State OASAS requirements necessary to become a CASAC (Level 1). Individuals who complete the CASAC training program at Exponents are eligible to receive college credit to apply toward an undergraduate degree at numerous local colleges.
